DiGi 3G arrives on mobile phones

Few months ago, DiGi rolled out its broadband packages running on its HSPA network but it did not launch the service for mobile phone users yet. However, few days ago, I saw some DiGi ads saying that their 3G service would be launched in Penang and Kota Kinabalu. Heck, why is it not available in the Klang Valley? Checked out DiGi’s site and I’m in coverage. Anyway, tried my luck and contacted the DiGi D’Chat service and they did activate my dcampus plan to work with the 3G line. Wow great.. lets try it out.

Great. the whole of Sunway is in 3G coverage.

digi-3g-sunway-2

Finally having the “H” (HSPA) logo on my cellphone instead of the usual “E” (EDGE) symbol! =D

Did a speed test one the 1st day and 2nd day .. Speed was awesome!  I could get download speeds of up to 300KB/s and upload speed of 160KB/s .. However, that did not last long. DiGi was quick to change its terms and prepaid users are now capped to a suuuuuper low speed of 50KB/s download and 15KB/s upload. damn u digi.

Anyway for RM30 a month for 3G broadband is “quite” affordable compared to other telcos such as Sialcom and Madsis.. I may give this service a try if my budget allows me to do so =)

p/s : Happy birthday to Zhi Xin and Victor again~

JM Briyani House @ SS18 Subang Jaya

Fancy having some briyani rice? I tried out this place which serves mainly briyani rice and it turned out to be pretty good. JM Briyani House at SS18 Subang.

I had this kambing briyani rice which costs around RM11+ if  I’m not mistaken. Its quite expensive for the portion given. One chunk of tender mutton and a bowl of rice, that’s it. Initially I wanted to have the kambing gam (I have no idea what is that) but they’ve already ran dry of their gam supplies..hahaha. Pretty lousy because I went there quite early and yet they have finished the stock. Perhaps it was during lunch time when the orders came in. JM-bariani-rice

Look at the oil ^.^

Taste? I would say it tastes great. But for the price? Not so great. The piece of mutton given was pretty small and the rice portion was rather little too. Nevertheless, if you feel like having briyani (and have the extra money to chip in), this place serves pretty good ones.

Notice that I repeated the small portion twice in this post.

Free food @ Sunway University College

Yup. Again its about free food. However this time it is at Sunway University College. It pretty much began when I saw in Facebook that Wen Hong posted on a photo comment that he was having his scholarship presentation ceremony today. I only saw the Facebook post just morning and texted him about it.

So, Sie Khai and I went to attend the food ceremony presentation at 11.45am. It started quite early though from the estimated time of 12pm.. Anyway we managed to grab hold of a huge portion of food thinking that since we were late, better grab more just in case there woudn’t be any more refills. The refills did come actually, so again, our greedy Sie Khai went to grab more.. and more.. and more food!

The food served were bee hoon, fried popiah, sandwich, rendang chicken, fake orange juice, cheese muffins, blueberry tarts and peach tarts.

Pasta Zanmai @ Sunway Pyramid

Being a “frequent” Sunway Pyramid visitor, I came to know of Pasta Zanmai at Sunway Pyramid for quite some time already but never had the chance to give it a try . Why? Because everytime I’m there, its full. Waiting time? Almost 45minutes. That’s totally crazy! However after several times, I managed to get a place there without having the waiting time. So lets give it a try~

pasta-zanmai-pyramid

A quick glance at the menu gave me a slight shock because the average price of the dishes served are at around RM22+/- . I’m more used to food that cost a whole 4 times cheaper …economy rice and stuff like that ;-)

I ordered the Set Meal which I roughly calculated that it was the best option for the price I’m paying. What came with it was a pizza with four 20-cents size scallop on it with shredded mushrooms on it . The set meal also included a Teriyaki Chicken Onsen Wafu. Then for drinks, plain water(free).

The pizza was yummy.. it was the thin crusted type and juicy too..

pasta-zanmai

The pasta tasted pretty good too with the teriyaki chicken and topped with an egg..

Overall, it was good but the food portion was rather little for me and a tad too pricey. Lucky for me, I did not have to pay for it so all is good =)

Well if I’m not mistaken, Pasta Zanmai is affiliated with Sushi Zanmai as well. I have yet to try that outlet yet. Sushi’s don’t come cheap unless they are on the buffet menu!~

Petting Zoo @ Lost World Of Tambun, Ipoh.

Have lots of time in Ipoh and you have nothing better to do? Try visiting the Petting Zoo @  Lost World of Tambun and you could spend your whole day there. Recently there’s an addition to the water theme park which is the petting zoo. Well what is it? Its a place where you are able to get closer with the animals, let them see who you are and that’s pretty much it. Interacting with the animals.

lost-world-tambun-petting-zoo

The place is not bad overall, quite a variety of animals there. Rabbits, snakes, raccoons, fishes, monkey, iguanas, monitor lizards, sugar gliders ahh just to name a few.python-lost-world-tambun-petting-zoo

What can you do there? Get strangled by a python!

What else? Watch some pornography. Raccoons mating =}

Snowflake Taiwanese Dessert Secrets @ SS15, Subang Jaya

Armed with nothing but a 1/2 empty stomach and Sie Khai’s Sony Cybershot T-30 camera, the whole bunch of mufy people(almost) met up at Snowflake Taiwanese Dessert Secrets at SS15, Subang Jaya.. The objective was to kepoh about each other and also to try out the dessert at this place.

The ordering style was albeit unique where you are given a disc like thing after payment and you’ll have to wait for it to buzz/vibrate before going over to the counter to collect the dessert.

snowflakes-taiwan-dessetr

I ordered the so called best seller item available there. Personally I think it is just a gimmick and perhaps by stating it as the best seller, more people would order it . When there are more orders, they could stock up more on the ingredients with a cheaper price then still selling it at the same price and finally, gain a higher profit.

The dessert was not up to my liking as the chewy orange and white stuff are supposed to be sweet potato and something else tasted funny. Smells awful.  The black stuff you see on the picture is just a 1/2-1cm layer of grass jelly and below it, is just plain shaved ice. Price? I can’t remember, someone please update me on this.

yau-char-kwai

And they had this yau char kwai with soya bean milk. Haha I don’t know how it tasted. Sie Khai ordered it.

DSC02731

The yucky stuff.

I guess that’s all about this place. =)

A good place to visit if you would like to have something chewy in your mouth that gives out a weird taste and smell.

Free Tea at Monash

Aha.. I’m back with free food again. Just morning, Esmonde called me up to inform me about this free lunch for the scholarship presentation ceremony but I couldn’t go there in time because I was still at home.

Nevertheless, I still managed to get free food but this time it was for the IT students. So called the student-teacher get-together time. Haha..

IMAG0036

Ah yes, it was all you can eat style =).

IMAG0035

What was served? Fried beehoon, roti jala, sambal, curry chicken, some kuih, cream puffs and orange juice.

IMAG0038

Was it the same food served, Esmonde? Leftover perhaps? haha..

Argh, I still can’t use the camera well yet.

heck.

yltan-fz18
