Dell Studio 15 Showcase

It has been many years since I got hold of a Dell notebook. The one with me now is currently turning 8 this year and today I got hold of this red Dell Studio 15. W00t call me jakun or whatever, but I think the bag looks quite good. Though the bag capacity is rather limited, it can still hold a couple of things like your external drives and stuff in it and still look slim.

Here’s the Dell’s version of Targus notebook bag.

This thing looks gorgeous from the outside..

The inside, hmm.. not so good. Looks rather plain with the grey/silver finish. The keyboard was slightly on the “bendable” side because during typing you could actually see the whole keyboard moving slightly.

Call me jakun again but it look me a minute to figure out where the power on button was! HAHA!

As usual, the Dell Studio LED screen did not fail to impress me. Colors were vibrant and text was sharp. The blacks weren’t black enough though..

At a certain angle I could see some line scanning going on, I’m not sure whether this is a problem with the screen or it is meant to be like that. Anyway it is only visible if you really stare at the screen properly. Will check it out once the setup is complete.

Again! the 90w power adaptor has been trimed down to a size thinner than my phone. Nice one. It runs pretty hot though. The notebook itself runs quite hot during idle times too.

Overall, the Dell Studio 15 is a quite a powerful machine here. Equipped with the Core i5 2.4ghz , 4gb DDR3 ram, 1GB ATi HD5740, 500GB hdd, this notebook is perfect for watching my TVB dramas!! AHHAHA.

Special thanks to Ivy and Eddy for letting me molest their very new toy. I couldn’t resist myself from snapping photos of your notebook. It was simply a natural poser.

SiS Appreciation Night 2010

Okay there was this event called the appreciation night, which was supposed to, well, appreciate their clients.

Organized by SiS Malaysia, I went over to attend this APPRECIATION event a.k.a Free Dinner with Reng Kwan.

I believe representatives from Apple, Belkin, Canon, Case-Master, D-Link, Garmin-Asus, HTC, Philips, QNAP, Samsung, SMC, Sony and Western Digital were there too. Didn’t manage to say  ” HI! ” to any of them though. T.T

Note: They couldn’t manage to spell night correctly. ( nite ).

Venue: One World Hotel

Registered guests were given these 2 pieces of paper, 1 HTC brochure, and ugh, one rubber band thingy.

There were around 15 tables occupied and here are some of the food served. I didn’t take photo of every single thing (takde camera, hanya cellphone).

The food was okay, good enough to make my tummy happy =). They could have made the variety more though.

Then there was this product showcase whereby the models came in in bicycles with this banner kinda thing or rather a moving advertisement.

Things were good..lol. The only thing that I missed out was the lucky draw! I didn’t manage to get anything out from it. HTC Wildfire, HTC Smart and many more goodies.

Posed with the board thing.. whatever its called.

Hey, SiS if you’re reading this, can you give me something? Haha. Do remember to invite me for your next events (or next year’s appreciation dinner) alright? I’d be glad to watch your moving adverts and also the many many promotional videos that you’ve presented again =). You can contact me at admin(at)yltan.com or just check back the lucky draw contestant number 2116. hahaha..

Thank you Reng Kwan & SiS. =)

New Netbooks

Looks like they’ve bought more netbooks for us to play with.

This time it is equipped with a 2point touchscreen, a newer 1.8ghz Atom processor and same ol’ 2GB ram.

This is the new way to use a netbook. haha.

Let’s get poking.

New toy for the moment

Got my hands on a new toy. Lenovo ThinkPad x100e.

Perhaps I’ll get into the details when I’m free to do a review on it.

Anyway, AMD beats the crap out of Intel’s Atom processors.

Ahh, goodness of Lenovo.

Dead cat spotted! Too bad.

Came back today and saw some monster-like creature lying still on my garden. I was like OMGWTEFF! Quickly grabbed my camera and began snapping. Hahaha. Turned out that there was a trespasser and it got caught.

Sources said that this cat loves to provoke the 2 dogs at my place by walking outside the gate and keep calling them. Anyway that’s not the point, the point is, the cat is dead! and I have pictures!!

Oolala huge cat eh? =X let’s take a closer look.

Oh look at those beautiful red eyes..

Aren’t the flies beautiful too? There’s one going right into the ears.

So called 9 lives eh? All gone in a day. LOL.

Free Food

The free food supply is back! Finally they’ve changed the menu but now the calamari tastes awful.

Anyway there were potatoes , chicken, vegetables, fried rice and .. that’s about it.

Oh yea, new environmental friendly plates too!

Food of the day – Bismillah Cendol, Taiping

Bismillah Cendol @ Taiping.

RM 1.20 per bowl.

According to Jason, the cendol in KL tastes better.

A whole new layout..

It has been a year since the 1st post of mine on this site which was titled – Resurrection of yltan.com

Ever since, things have been going pretty well (in terms of website stability) and pocket money collection ^^.

One year, things move on and so does this blog.

The theme for this year would be different, resembling  a GTX Sense style ( which you can see on the screenshots on my phone in a few posts back )  and I’m glad to say that the platform for this site has been upgraded to WordPress 3.01.

I greatly appreciate your support for this site and hope this would continue as this site is mainly funded by ads.

Cheers!
