Morganfield’s @ Pavillion, KL

Came across several articles about Morganfield’s at Pavillion, KL recently. They were supposed to be specializing in pork ribs which is good because at the moment I have not came across any other restaurant which serve pork ribs this way. Tony Romas/TGI’s are the common ones but they do not serve with the best thing on Earth, Pork.

Located at Level 4, Pavillion, I headed over to give it a try after a friend of mine, Reng Kwan went there previously.
Nice cosy environment and adequate lighting to begin snapping away with my camera!
There she is with the menu! Getting shy and excited over her birthday celebration eh? =p
One of the drinks served there, looks good eh? Taste it and you’ll turn sour. There’s something in it which I think is some grated lime skin which makes the drink bitter when the sediments are chewed. Urgh~ Hope they’ll do some modifications to the drink. I don’t know, not my cuppa lime juice HAHAH. I forgot the name here already , perhaps someone could shed some light on this?
The “jiu pai” sticky pork ribs =D. I had the 1/2 slab variety as I felt that a whole slab would be killing. Yes it is filling.  The sauce provided was adequate, even provided me with an extra bottle of vinegar. Sorry newbie here, I didn’t know what to dash the vinegar with but they tasted good with the hot crispy fries. Yes it was nice.
What we have here are small cutlets of lamb chops. The plate? Pretty huge. The contents on the plate? Very tiny..
The lamb cutlets were juicy and tender, just to my liking. Baked potatoes were my all time favorites just wished that they would provide more cheese on top of it. More lamb cutlets too, please? 3 small pieces couldn’t even fill a girl’s tummy.
Nom-nom nom~the pork ribs @ Morganfield’s :D
Last but not least, the birthday girl!
Happy Birthday Clover Chang! <3 .
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to you,
Be a good gal. XD
As you are now older, don’t nag too much okie? Listen to me more often and you shall get more cakes =P .
Oh yea, the brownie + ice-cream + cream tasted goood as well :D .
Had another serving of ice cream. They ran out of chocolate ice cream so we had to get the strawberry one instead..
Overall the whole experience was good with great and friendly service from the waiters. Just request for anything, and they would try their best to get it for you. =).

Kenny Rogers Buy 1 Free 1 @ Sunway Pyramid. SUCKS.

So once again Kenny Rogers had their Buy 1 Free 1 Promotion (buy a 1/4 meal and get another one free). You’ll have to dress up in something red to be eligible to get this offer. So I went… and YES I regretted. Laugh all you want..

1st bad impression – They restricted the side orders to coleslaw, mashed potatoes and baked beans. OMGWTFISTHIS?! Nobody eats these stuff! Anyway being someone famous for his stinginess~ I willingly agreed to this and got a seat.

The muffins. Same ol’ muffins. Nothing bad happened in this. Still the same old taste.

crack me up babe!

Look at this! It looks “GREAT” right? The mashed potatoes tasted like baby food without any taste. ALL WATERY.  Chicken tasted like it was made of some rubber dough kinda thing. One word. PLAIN. Even with extra gravy, the chicken still did not have THE CHICKEN TASTE. EPIC FAIL.

The other two side dishes were, normal.

We were feeling all gooey and sick after all these.. GTFO Kenny Rogers Sunway Pyramid. I’ll never have return visit.

kthxbai.

Restoran Boston Baru @ Klang (update)

Previously I made a post about this restaurant here way back here in March 2011. Almost a year now. At that time I only went for the clams but in this recent visit, there were more dishes ordered. So how did they fair?

Still the same old dirty, shop with people like me waiting for them to start the business at 6pm. No longer 7pm. Look at that Clover Chang sticking her head up with a HMMPH!

Tadaaa! food ordered. Arrived after a long wait ( approx 30mins?)

Fried-squid with tomatoes and cucumbers. They were not crispy but rather a tad soggy when chewed upon.

Fried mantis prawns a.k.a urinating prawns (lai liu har) with oats and sugar. The only thing crispy on this dish was the un-melted sugar which gives a slight crunch when you bite em’ . hahahaha.

Fried Choy Sam. I wondered why we had more stem than leaves.

Last but not least, the la la la la la. Probably this was the only dish that was good.Had 2 plates of them.

Glorious shells~

In conclusion, you can only go here for the lala but nothing else. Probably it was good before this but now.. NOPES!

Updated with coordinates now too!

Rosemary Bites @ Aman Suria

Here’s a place at Aman Suria which serves out western dishes supposedly to come from the US. It is located a few doors away from Betty’s Midwest Kitchen but then the prices are much lower here. Been here twice, once when it was featured on one of the coupon sites and it was a pretty good deal and now I’m returning for more.

The interior here is decorated with various flags from the states, photos of rosemary everywhere and the tables are really limited here. Probably only about 10 tables or so. The chef takes a reaaaaly long time to get the dishes out. Probably because the whole shop is only limited to 3 staff. One to take orders, one serving the food and the chef himself. Pretty cost effective huh?

Here’s the Columbus Lamb Chop. RM19.90

and here’s the Chicken Chop – RM13.50

Taste wise, ok-lah~ not an overkill for my tiny wallet. Similar prices to those of Kenny Rogers/Nando’s. If you are looking for some high class place, then this is not the place to be but then for a decent meal, tastes pretty good to me :D

1901 Hot Dogs @ Anywhere!

Cheaper 1901 New York Chicken Hot Dogs on the 19th every month!

The picture says it all! Its all about the 1901 hot dogs. There’s a promotion happening today whereby a New York Chicken hot dog would cost RM2.99 (inc tax) each for the regular ones and the larger ones would cost RM3.99. Offer only valid for every 19th of the month.

Add in RM1 and you’ll get a cup of orange juice as well.

Tasted pretty good when the price is slashed 1/2 from the original price :D

p/s Auntie Anne’s had free pretzels giveaway just afternoon at around 12-2pm as well =)

Fried Chicken @ Wong Soon Kee, SS14 Subang Jaya

So I heard about this fried chicken from various sources many years ago. It didn’t really catch my attention until Sie Khai pointed out to me again the other day. Having nothing to eat on that day, I went over and ordered these

The so called famous fried chicken. I had them together with some Chinese nasi lemak, mind you it sucks. However, the chicken tasted not bad but nothing spectacular I would say. The skin was a slight tad too salty.  You could get similar stuff from here as well. Rumored that the queue would take 20mins or so just to get the chicken, this was total bullshit as it only took me around 5mins and its done. Anyway, if the queue was to really take 20mins, my advice is to get yourself another thing to munch down. This place isn’t worth your 20mins.

Oh btw, these don’t come cheap. Rm17 for Nasi Lemak + Vege + 3 thighs.

Bi Fung Tang Cafe @ Bandar Puteri Puchong

Ok, here is yet another food post. Bi Fung Tang Cafe in Puchong.

A  new shop in Bandar Puteri Puchong which its walls and tables etc still look pretty new. They have a branch in Ipoh as well.

Anyway we went and gave it a try. RM6 for asam laksa + drinks. There are other dishes as well, we ordered this because of some promotional thing we had.

The laksa was thick, not sure whether it was due to the gravy being concentrated because there weren’t many customers so it became thick after keeping it for a long period. = P . It was good though.. thick is good. =) Nothing much to comment about this shop except that its new and if you’d like a peaceful environment (there’s nobody here) then here is the place to go. HAHA!

Murni Discovery @ Sunway Mentari Court

Heard of Murni SS2? They’ve got a branch in Sunway Mentari Court now! Surprised?

Good for us residents at Sunway because this makes it easier for us to cash in to this mamak restaurant without having to travel all the way to SS2 or the other branches. Went over and gave it a try..  Took quite some number of photos there of what we ordered below =)

Lychee Special – RM5 -medium sized – It was good but there were frozen nata de coco and slightly frozen watermelon cubes as well.

Bandung – RM2

Roti Beckham!  – Oh , this was nice. >.< -RM5

Maggie Goreng Special. Saw that KURANG PEDAS X3? HAHAHA. – Taste? Hmm, okay not too bad but not too good as well. RM4.50

Mee Raja – RM8. This was supposed to be good but somehow I don’t find anything special about this. This was packed with quite a huge amount of ingredients though.. but hey, nothing special to me.

Overall, this place is nice because its near my place! Food wise, well could be improved.. I didn’t really like frozen nata de coco’s in my drinks so yeah, improve alright?

Another thing, people can’t seem to find this place. Its so ulu..

Here’s how to get there = )

When you are heading towards Sunway Mentari, be on the lookout for the Shell petrol station, move on and you’ll reach Mentari Court. Find for 99 Speedmart and it is just located next to it.

If you have a GPS Device running on malfreemaps, just search for the 99Speedmart POI. Apparently there isn’t any Murni Discovery Sunway Mentari POI on the map yet. Hope someone adds this in soon. =) Refer to the map if you think it will help.

Overjoyed? Time to cash in your money to this place. Damn. Wished they gave me some commission for this. :/

Restoran Boston Baru @ Klang

UPDATED POST HERE 8/1/2012 : ( CLICK ME

My first time at Restoran Boston Baru in Klang. Heard that it was famous for its fresh and delicious seafood. I went over to this restaurant to have their famous clams. The only dish ordered was the lala because we went there after dinner , making this our supper.

Here’s the ‘Sheung Tong’ La La (Clams in Supreme Soup).
How does it taste?
Awesome , awesome , awesome!

Heard from another Klang fella, Phaik Joo said that there were many other dishes which are equally delicious.Since it was a “supper” visit, I will have to make another trip to this place and get more dishes served.
I’ll be back. =)

Yao Yao Ping & Fried Chicken @ Klang

Having an iced drink or ice-kacang on a sun scorching day would be the best thing on earth if you are in Malaysia. That’s what I experienced and thanks to valnot’s owner, I had this thing called the Yao Yao Ping and a few pieces of fried chicken at Klang. The restaurant name is simple, Yao Yao Ping Restaurant as it is the same name as the food/drinks they serve.

We headed there and I was pretty surprised that the shop wasn’t really occupied. Maybe because we went there at an odd time because I’ve seen photos of this place before and oh boy it was crowded! Mind you, this shop was once endorsed by the 8TV Ho Ciak show as well.

So what is yao yao ping? It’s pretty much similar to what we call ice-blended here but with local ingredients. They had this longan flavor, bubur cha cha, red bean, sour plum and a couple more.. I can’t really rememeber but there are a variety of flavors which you can pick from. You could even have 2 flavors in a cup.

I had this flavor. Honestly I don’t know what flavor is this already. I think its bubur cha cha and sour plum. Haha! It was nice with the smooth blended ice. Simply refreshing.

Here’s the fried chicken. Ignore the walnut please haha.

Overall this place is worth visiting if you have not tried or hear of yao yao ping before. It is something different from what we usually have and the fried chicken simply compliments it with its skin fried to perfection while retaining the juicy meat inside.
