Pak Hainam Koptiam @ Sungei Wang Plaza
Remember the time where paus used to cost below RM1 and you could have those for breakfast without having to korek much from your wallet? I came across this place called Pak Hainam Kopitiam yesterday, (introduced by Reng Kwan) which serves pau’s at an affordable price of RM1 each. Nowadays paus usually cost around RM1.40 and could go all the way up to RM2.80 each..
The paus offered at this price were the red bean pau, tau sar pau, kaya pau and chicken fillings pau(a.k.a char siew pau but halal).
I ordered a kaya pau and the chicken pau. Obviously the chicken pau would be more worth it but oh well, lets try the other paus too =P
The paus were quite delicious, not too sure whether because my stomach was already demanding for food at that moment. Not to forget, the paus were made using wholemeal flour and that makes it differ from the other paus out in the market.
Then they had the RM1 thong sui also. RM1 for a bowl of red bean soup?Hmm.. Much better than those shops like KTZ which charges quite alot, if I’m not mistaken, RM 3.60? haha..
Anyway, it was a mistake to order the COLD edition of this red bean soup. I thought they would give me the chilled version, but then, they just dumped many cubes of ice into it. Argh.
So, total cost? RM1+RM1+RM1 + 5% tax. = RM3.15
Not bad at all.
